TEDx Leiden University 2018

The first edition of TEDxLeidenUniversity was held on the 29th of April 2018, and with the theme of ‘Building Bridges’. The event dealt with issues of connection in modern society, both online and off, and how we have more in common than we think. The day discussed four overarching themes: Shifting the Angle, Beyond Boundaries, The Bigger Picture, and Building the Future.

We were honoured to host the following speakers and their work;

  • Karin van der Tuin: Your DNA Code in the Cloud?

  • Raphael Rodan: The Story Dividing Us

  • Rosalinde Spitters: The Importance of Community: Why We Need To Connect the Dots

  • Seun Bakare: How ‘Fearful Activists’ and ‘Courageous Homophobes’ are Combating Homophobia in Africa

  • Stephan Holwerda: Why Not Having an Identity May Be a Good Thing

  • Timo Schmidt: Rethinking the ‘European Refugee Crisis’ on a Bike
